When should I use ZR+ pluggables versus a transponder?

ZR/ZR+ pluggables fit metro and regional spans directly from the router; longer or higher-channel-count spans still use NCS 1000/2000 transponders and amplification. We model reach, channels, and budget before quoting.

Can I converge without replacing my whole optical line system?
