Those agreements are open to Idaho state agencies, institutions of higher education, and political subdivisions authorized to use statewide contracts, which means a Cisco Secure Firewall or ISE deployment can ride an existing cooperative vehicle rather than a standalone RFP cycle.

Idaho National Laboratory, a Department of Energy site established in 1949, supports the Navy's nuclear propulsion program and runs Critical Infrastructure Protection research focused on securing energy grids — a mission that depends on rigorously segmented, TAA-compliant network hardware. Mountain Home Air Force Base, home to the 366th Fighter Wing under Air Combat Command, adds a second concentration of federal IT demand in the southwestern part of the state, giving Idaho a buyer base split between a major DOE research site and traditional Air Force operations.
