Cisco AIR-CT8510-K9 End of Life & End of Support

Cisco 8510 Wireless Controller

Past Last Date of Support (Sep 30, 2023)

The 8510 was Cisco's original high scale AireOS wireless controller, supporting up to 6000 access points for large campus and carrier networks. Cisco's bulletin names the Cisco 8540 Wireless Controller as the direct replacement, and since the 8540 itself later reached end of sale, current refreshes move straight to the Catalyst 9800-80 wireless controller. The 8510's last date of support passed on September 30, 2023, so it is already unsupported.

Running past End-of-Sale or Last Date of Support means no new Cisco TAC, hardware replacement, or security fixes. Uniqcli, an authorized Cisco partner, scopes a like-for-like or better replacement, confirms TAA compliance, accepts the Government Purchase Card (GPC), and plans a low-risk cutover.

Can I still get support for the AIR-CT8510-K9?

Not from Cisco. The AIR-CT8510-K9 passed its Last Date of Support (Sep 30, 2023), so Cisco TAC, hardware replacement, and SmartNet renewals are no longer available.
