Overview
The Catalyst 8500-12X is a fixed high-performance aggregation platform with twelve 1/10-Gigabit SFP+ interfaces, built for Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN headend and data-center/colocation edge roles. Its x86 multicore architecture delivers very high IPsec and forwarding throughput for terminating large numbers of SD-WAN tunnels from branch sites. It runs Cisco IOS XE for unified policy and telemetry.
